How I managed to find all Reanimal critter locations

I like to think I’m pretty decent at unearthing secrets, but finding all the Reanimal critter locations proved a right undertaking. They are extremely well concealed, sometimes in plain sight, sometimes completely off the critical story path. 

In any case, I finally managed to find them all, and to save you the hassle of wasting hours tracking them down, I’ll walk you through exactly where and in which chapters to find all the Reanimal critter locations. Finding them all won’t just unlock the Critter Kill Hit trophy, but will earn you five different masks – one for each critter.

The Cleaning Room critter location

For the first Reanimal critter, I grabbed the crowbar from inside the cinema in The Cleaning Room. After saving the hood child, I made my way back outside. Across from the cinema is a building with a small entrance covered by planks you can break with the crowbar. Head in and you’ll spot a traffic cone. Hit the cone to reveal and kill the critter, getting you the traffic cone mask.

After the Flood critter location

I fired up the After the Flood chapter and pressed on until the point where you climb the long ladder to the pig farm. Instead of entering the barn, head left into the field of yellow flowers. You’ll find a scarecrow. Wack it with the crowbar, and the critter will pop out. Hit the critter with the crowbar to get the deer mask.

No Shelter critter location

For this Reanimal critter, I made my way into the clocktower room at the start of the No Shelter chapter. Before continuing further into the chapter through the cupboard, look on the right side of the clocktower room, and you’ll spot a small opening in the wall. Crawl through to reveal a small room with a shrine, candles, and a critter. The critter will run out and back into the clocktower room. Chase it and whack it to get the bucket mask.

Nobody Left Behind critter location

At the start of the Nobody Left Behind chapter, head forward into the control where you start to solve the cannon puzzle. Head outside through the door on the right, where you’ll find the generator. You’ll spot a box with a white fish drawn on the side. Push it off the ledge. After solving the cannon puzzle and making it back down to the beach below, head left, and you’ll find the box broken and the critter roaming free for you to hit with the crowbar to get the fish mask.

The Watcher critter location

I found the fifth and final Reanimal critter during The Watcher chapter, specifically at the point where you reach the room with the three hanging soldiers that you need to shoot to get a key. Once you’ve got the key, head through the door on the right and open the toppled-over oven. The critter will run out and into the room with the hanging soldiers. Go through the door, grab a gun, and shoot the critter to get the gas mask.
