Fortnite is bringing back one of the most unique weapon mechanics in the game’s history, but with a new name. The fan-favorite EvoChrome weapons from Chapter 3 – Season 4 are officially returning to the island. They have been rebranded as Morphite weapons, and they are ready to shake up the meta.

When these weapons first come out, they will be available in the Reload mode, which returned on Thursday, December 4. Unlike EvoChrome weapons, which were only available as a rifle and a shotgun, Morphite weapons will bring many more options. In fact, you will be able to use six of them with the upcoming Reload update.

New EvoChrome weapons are coming to Fortnite Reload

Morphite weapons work exactly like EvoChrome guns that were available in Chapter 3. What makes them special is the unique leveling mechanic. In other words, the more damage you deal to enemies, the higher your weapon’s rarity becomes.

Thanks to this mechanic, you can pick up an Uncommon (green) weapon and level it up all the way to Legendary (orange) or Mythic (yellow). In fact, back in Chapter 3, it was possible to level up the weapons by damaging all the hostile NPCs, including wildlife.

As Epic Games has already revealed, there will be six different Morphie weapons, including two assault rifles, three close-range weapons, and a hand cannon. These will be perfect for the fast-paced combat in Fortnite Reload, as they can cover any range, from close to long.

The next Fortnite update is scheduled to come out on Thursday, December 11, and it will bring the new loot pool. This update will also add the Winterfest event, and we already have a look at the first leaked skin that will come with it.
