Fortnite chest spawn buff delivers a major loot upgrade

If you have struggled to find loot in Fortnite Chapter 7, Epic Games has a solution for you. A new hotfix has just gone live, and it drastically increases the spawn rate of chests across the entire island. This is a massive win for everyone dropping into the chaos and exploring the new locations.

Starting today, you will find significantly more chests in every location on the map, making the early game much less frustrating. Thanks to the recent buff, chests will spawn more often, allowing you to pick up valuable loot before heading into action. No more landing on a building just to leave it empty-handed and go back to the lobby within a few seconds.

Chest spawn rate has been increased in Fortnite

Previously, the chest spawn rate fluctuated between 40% and 55%, which made finding loot very inconsistent. Now, the rate has been bumped up to 60%, meaning more than half of all possible chest locations will have guaranteed loot. At one point, Fortnite had a 100% spawn chest rate, but the game is slightly more fun with the RNG factor in play.

This change is crucial because of the new Tsunami mechanic. Since you can no longer choose your exact drop spots, landing in a spot with no gun is often a death sentence.

Next time you ride the wave and land at a spot, you will almost certainly find more loot and have more confidence to engage enemies.

The return of the Battle Bus might be just a few days away, as Epic will bring back Reload and Blitz modes on Thursday, November 4. Once the bus returns, you’ll be able to freely pick your landing spot, regardless of how distant it is.
