With the release of Chapter 7 on Saturday, Fortnite will remove the Battle Bus. This landing mechanic was used in the game for more than eight years, and Epic Games will remove it in less than 36 hours. Fortnite’s Battle Bus will be replaced by a tsunami, which sounds exciting! However, this mechanic comes with certain limitations.
The new Fortnite chapter will be released shortly after a live event, which is set for Saturday at 2 PM ET. The chapter will bring lots of new stuff, from a brand new island to new cosmetics in the Battle Pass. Once again, Epic will release big gameplay changes, and the new landing system sounds just fantastic.
Fortnite will remove the Battle Bus and add surfing
On Saturday, you will be able to surf in Fortnite! According to Hypex, the most popular leaker, Epic will remove the Battle Bus with the new chapter. This means that you will no longer be able to jump out of it and pick your favorite landing spot. It also means that you won’t be able to thank the bus driver anymore!
With the bus getting into the vault, Epic will add a tsunami. More specifically, you will surf the tsunami at the start of every match, and this is how you’ll pick where you start the match.

While a new mechanic sounds great and refreshing, it also comes with a negative side. The leaker claims that you won’t be able to pick distant spots on the map. Furthermore, you will get a random direction of the wave in each match, and that’s where you will have to go.
Some players believe that this mechanic will be used temporarily, while others think that the Battle Bus won’t return anytime soon. We will find out soon enough, as the new chapter of Fortnite drops on Saturday afternoon!
