The FIFA 14 Xbox One bundle is just the first of many Xbox One bundles planned for release, Microsoft has suggested.

Posting on Xbox Wire, Microsoft announced that FIFA 14 would be included free in pre-orders of the Xbox One in Europe, but its wording indicates further game bundles will follow.

"The Xbox team gave gamers another great reason to choose Xbox One as their next generation console, with the news that all pre-order Xbox One consoles in Europe will include a digital version of a blockbuster game and the first game included will be the best-selling sports franchise FIFA 14," reads the announcement.

"All pre-orders to date and future pre-orders will include FIFA 14, while supplies last."

Notice the bold section – "first game included" – which seems pretty clear that once the FIFA 14 bundle sells out, a new "blockbuster" game will be added to the bundle.

But this can't be financially feasible, have you any idea how much a exclusive game costs MS! Even a timed exclusive like CoD maps 2 weeks before Sony costs them millions, if there securing a £40 minimum game to give to xbone owners for free that's gonna cost them a pretty penny or even 2 pretty penny's and it can't just be to make the higher price point look more attractive as I'm sure consumers would prefer £40 off the console in the first place. From EAs perspective though this is strange, as one of there biggest sellers is now free and again I'm presuming that MS got a discount for buying in bulk too so there gonna be losing out and doubting giving it away free will bring in any new customers to the franchise as ppl who want it will already get it.

It is a full copy via Digital Code in the box and is not part of games for Gold this game is yours to do with as you please.

Several things I think they could mean by saying "first game included"

1. There will be a selection of games available for free at the launch of the console, one of which will be Fifa and the others probably smaller indie or in-house games, all of which you get for free.

2. There will be a selection of games available for free at the launch of the console and you get to choose which one you would like to get for free, meaning they could all possibly be big AAA releases.

3. This is a continuation of the Games for Gold programme and we will get new games for free in a similar manner to the scheme as it exists now (though how you could maintain that programme at the start of a new generation and still expect people to buy games is beyond me).

4. What they mean is that other regions will get different games for free at launch such as Madden for the USA which will be announced in the coming weeks

Edit: Though if it is a code included in the box that could either be a code just to download Fifa or allow you access to a special page where option 2 above applies

None of this is making any sense to me right now dunno if its cos my mind is blown by this or that I've not slept or eaten in 48 hrs (long story), is this part of the games for gold thing, I presume then by "first game included" means this is the first game in the gold offer followed by others as is now. As usual confusing Microsoft, will prob do a 180 on this any way n say FIFA Won't be coming at all now.
