Three Fields Entertainment has started work on a new driving game, creative director Alex Ward has announced.

The game is presumably the spiritual successor to Burnout 3 teased by the company last year, with work beginning shortly after the release of the studio’s debut title Dangerous Golf.

Three Fields was formed by Criterion co-founders Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry in 2014, and is largely made up of former Criterion staff. Ward has previously said that the new driving game “will be VERY fast” and see Burnout 3’s announcer Ted Stryker return “to do the voice over”.

The developer has previously referred to the game as ‘Shiny Red Something’, a reference to Burnout’s original codename ‘Shiny Red Car’.

A release window for the game has yet to be revealed.
