We still don’t officially know the name of this year’s Battlefield, but a slip-up from EA Access may have confirmed that the game could indeed be called Battlefield 5.

Tweeting last night about the free Premium DLC currently available for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline, EA Access said: “Correct, it was a surprise for members to celebrate the Battlefield 5 event tomorrow!”

Sounds pretty clear-cut, doesn’t it?

Rumours yesterday suggested that this year’s Battlefield could be called ‘Battlefield 1’, with other rumours persisting that the game could be set during World War 1 or World War 2.

The first ‘game engine footage’ was also revealed in a short teaser clip yesterday, showing what appears to be a soldier looking up at an object looming towards him. Some have speculated that his outfit shares a resemblance uniforms worn during WWI and WWII.

Whichever time period it may be set in, though, we don’t have to wait too much longer to find out. The next Battlefield, or Battlefield 5 as it seems to be called, is being revealed at 9pm tonight.
