Civilization MMO in the works

XLGames hiring MMORPG developers.

An MMO version of the acclaimed Civilization series is currently being developed by Asian studio XLGames.

Recently the studio partnered with Take-Two Interactive and had plans to make an existing Take-Two property into a new MMORPG title.

Now a number of Asian games websites have confirmed this will be Civilization Online, as reported by ArcheAge.

No official release date has been announced, however XLGames is currently recruiting server programmers, client programmers, artists, project managers, and mission designers, amongst others.

This is yet another step for the series to transform itself, following the development of Civilization World on Facebook.
