Microsoft has promised that the Xbox One interface, including the friends and party system, “will get better”, and that it is aware of criticisms players have with the current Xbox One dashboard.

“I had a meeting today about [the Xbox One party system] and I can say that things will get better,” Xbox LIVE’s director of programming Larry Hryb told fans on Reddit. “I can’t offer a timeline of a list of what till be addressed first, but we are aware of the issue and things will get better.”

Some players have accused Xbox One’s party system of being a backwards step from Xbox 360, with a new overcomplicated process making it more difficult to find parties and join friends’ games.

Many have also requested that Microsoft brings back the Xbox 360 Guide, a menu screen accessible by pushing the Xbox button on the Xbox 360 controller. Pushing the button on the Xbox One controller currently takes users back to the home screen.

A dedicated website listing changes that Xbox One players would like to see to the interface has also been set up, which Microsoft has previously said it is listening to.
