Story updated to include analysis: 17:00 GMT, November 1 2010:

It’s usually not possible to reveal life-to-date sales data for UK video game releases, but a slip up by UKIE, the trade body for the UK’s wider interactive entertainment industry, and percentage sales changes of games (data published by GfK Chart Track) has allowed VideoGamer.com to extrapolate approximate weekly and life-to-date figures for Medal of Honor, FIFA 11 and Just Dance 2.

First to FIFA 11 which has shifted a massive 1.28 million copies in five weeks.

Week 1: 759,194

Week 2: 280,902

Week 3: 98,316

Week 4: 68,821

Week 5: 75,703

Our week one figure differs from EA’s published 821,000 figure from early October.

Next up is EA’s Medal of Honor. Our calculations put its current life-to-date UK sales at 351,220 copies.

Week 1: 199,059

Week 2: 103,511

Week 3: 48,650

And finally it’s the turn of Just Dance 2 which has been slowly building momentum week-on-week, to accumulate life-to-date sales of 156,778.

Week 1: 41,173

Week 2: 57,230

Week 3: 58,375

It’s worth bearing in mind that Chart Track data is collected each week from 7,000 retail outlets representing 90 per cent of the UK software market. The 10 per cent of retail which isn’t represented could account for the discrepancy between our reverse engineered figures and those released by publishers.
