Fortnite and Xbox are ready for a big-time collaboration! In the past, Epic Games has mostly collaborated with Sony, releasing numerous exclusives and benefits for PlayStation players. While Xbox has had a couple of exclusive items in Fortnite, the partnership between Epic and Microsoft has not been very significant. However, that will change soon.
Starting in November, Xbox will add Fortnite Crew to the Game Pass. This addition will make the pass somewhat good for Xbox players, although it will cost $29.99. As Microsoft revealed, this is just the beginning of the partnership with Epic Games, as more things will come in the future.
Fortnite and Xbox will have a bigger collaboration in the future
Adding Fortnite Crew to the Xbox Game Pass is just one of many steps that the two companies will take together. According to the latest blog post by Microsoft, they will work together to create a new ecosystem.
“This is just the beginning of Xbox and Epic’s work together toward an open gaming ecosystem where friends can play and create together, anywhere, across devices,” the Xbox manufacturer wrote. However, this is quite vague, and we will likely get more information about the partnership soon.
Microsoft has received a lot of backlash lately due to the increase of the Xbox Game Pass subscription. While the Fortnite Crew upgrade is great, it may not be enough to keep the service profitable. Many Game Pass subscribers have reportedly canceled their subscriptions, so it will be interesting to see if the company will make changes to its pricing model.
The collaboration with Fortnite should be successful, but we will probably have to wait longer for it to come out. This could also mean that Xbox players will finally get exclusive skins for free, just like it’s the case with PlayStation.
