Before committing to downloading it, or checking to see if your favourite games are compatible with it, it’s worth knowing: is GeForce Now free? In short, no. GeForce Now uses a three-tiered subscription system, paid for either monthly or six-monthly, which gives subscribers varying access to games and different quality of graphics, depending on which tier you subscribe to.

While there is the option for a free trial period, this only amounts to an hour-long session of use, access to a basic rig, and is not always available. At this present time, the free trial option is not available. This is due to GeForce Now having certain capacities for their servers; Ultimate members receive priority access to the servers, then the Priority members are next in line, and then all standard members (those with a free subscription). Access to your regional servers can vary for standard members depending on the capacity of the servers, resulting in varying wait times. When available, the free subscription gives members an hour-long session, after which they can then rejoin the queue.

How much does GeForce Now cost in 2024?

Beyond the free option, there are two other tiers: Priority and Ultimate. In theory, these can be paid for either by month or every sixth month depending on how much you want to pay upfront, however these are also not always available. As of right now, the monthly Priority and monthly Ultimate subscriptions are sold out.

The Priority subscription costs $12.75 per month or $63.79 for six months. This subscription gives you access to a premium rig, which means up to GeForce NOW RTX 3060- or RTX 2080-equivalent GPU servers, as advertised by Nvidia itself. You will have access up to 1080p resolution and up to 60fps, for high performance and quality during your gameplay. The Priority subscription also allows priority access to premium servers and a 6-hour long session of use, so if you enjoy gaming but don’t spend all day doing it, e.g. for streaming, then this would be the best value subscription for you.

Meanwhile, the GeForce Now Ultimate subscription costs $25.51 per month or $127.59 for six months. Varying from the Priority subscription, the Ultimate tier comes with access to a GeForce 4080 RTX rig for premium graphics of up to 4K resolution and up to 120fps. This package comes with exclusive access to the 4080 RTX servers with an extended 8-hour long session. This tier is probably better suited to those who make video game content, such as streaming or reviewing games, not only needing top quality graphics but also a longer session length than a casual gamer would need.
