The highly anticipated sequel has got us asking is Dead Island Hell-A edition worth it?

Now Dead Island 2 has been released and many hardcore fans are eyeing up the ‘HELL-A’ edition. For those unaware, the Hell-A edition offers both in-game and real-life items alongside the game itself.

It’s definitely looking like an all-out kinda purchase, with additional bonuses like tarot cards, travel maps and golden weapons packs all in the mix. Whether or not you think these extra’s are worth it comes down to your personal preference.

It’s worth knowing that time is running out if you want to pre-order the Hell-A edition and reap the additional rewards. These include the Memories of Banoi Pack which includes two weapons from the first game. Players will also get an additional Skill Card and a Weapon Perk. So far, these extras sound pretty good, especially if you’re nostalgic for the older version of the game.

Is Dead Island 2 HELL-A Edition worth it?

It comes down to how big a fan you are of the game, and how much you enjoy playing it. If you’d like to get a second opinion, our friend Ford has written up an excellent Dead Island 2 review to give you some insight into the game.

In our opinion, the Expansion Pass alone is a pretty tempting offer if you’re a fan of the franchise since it comes with two additional DLC packs. The other bits like the Slayer Tarot Cards, Pin Bades and Patch are collector’s items that will be worth it for some fans.

The extras of the Hell-A Edition include the Pulp Weapons Pack and Golden Weapons Pack as in-game items. With these you’ll get unique weapons to take enjoy in the game. While you shouldn’t hope that these will give you an advantage over other players, they’re good if you value a bit of variety in your gameplay.

If you like the sound of the extras, but are weary of going all in on the HELL-A Edition, you can get the Day 1 edition instead for less than $70. While you’ll miss out on a lot of the content, you’re still getting the Memories of Banoi Pack.

However, it’s always exciting to have collectibles for a much-loved game, and given the sheer amount of things you get, it’s pretty good value. Particularly exciting items include the Golden Weapons pack that includes Sam B’s Pistol and Abuela’s Ashes Mace.

Is the Hell-A Edition the same as the Collector’s Edition?

The Hell-A Edition is essentially the same as teh Collector’s Edition of Dead Island 2. With it you’ll get everything found in the Gold Edition, with additions including a steelbook case and collectable items.

It’s exciting to see what Deep Silver chosen to include in this Hell-A Edition that is available for a limited time only. Ultimately, they went for a balance between digital add-ons and physical content.
