8GB VRAM simply wasn’t enough for this generation’s demands, especially when games such as Starfield, Jedi Survivor, and Baldur’s Gate 3 have found themselves eating up memory like there’s no tomorrow. The response from AMD has been to double the VRAM, while only slightly increasing the cost, and it’s a change I can totally justify.
Now, with 16GB of VRAM, the RX 7600 XT has made itself the staple budget graphics card, with the 4060 and 4060 Ti firmly placed within its sights.
Other notable differences in terms of the specs include a slight increase in clock speed. This is going to help keep frame-rates high and consistent, but the down-side is that the TDP also increased. This means that the operating costs of the running the RX 7600 XT will be significantly more expensive than the RX 7600 ever was.

The trade-up in specs will generally mean an average increase in performance. When you’re only paying $60 more, you’re not expecting to see monumental gains.
