We’re having a look at the RX 7600 vs RTX 3060 Ti to see how this new RX card shapes up.
The RX 7600’s release date has passed, and it’s set to be a popular and affordable graphics card. What with the recent dissatisfaction the gaming community has shown towards the RTX 4060 Ti, AMD will be hoping that the RX 7600 is in a good position to sell well. A smart way of finding out if you want to get your hands on one is to see how it performs relative to other cards.
We’ll be comparing it to the RTX 3060 Ti. This has been an enduring popular option since its release, offering impressive 1080p performance for a price that was reasonably low for an RTX 30-series GPU.
To make the comparison as simple as possible we’ve broken it down into different sections. Let’s get into it.
RX 7600 vs RTX 3060 Ti – specs
RX 7600 specs | RTX 3060 Ti 12GB specs | |
Architecture | RDNA 3 | Ampere |
Cores | 2,048 | 3,584 |
Base Clock (MHz) | 2,250 | 1,320 |
Boost Clock (MHz) | 2,655 | 1,777 |
Memory | 8GB GDDR6 | 12 GB GDDR6 |
Memory Bus | 128-bit | 192-bit |
Memory Bandwidth | 288GB/s | 360 GB/s |
TDP | 165W | 170W |
We’ve plugged the RX 7600 and put them next to the official specs for the 12GB version of the RTX 3060 Ti to make comparing them easier. Let’s break a few of them down.
The RTX 3060 Ti will have overall more impressive specs. In two vital areas which affect performance, the hardware of the 3060 Ti is better. It has over 3,500 cores and 4GB more VRAM than the RX 7600. Both of these specs have an outsized impact on performance.
The superior clock speeds, both base and boost, that the RX 7600 comes with do go some way to mitigate against this. The clock speed tells you how many computing cycles the card completes per second. While the number is greater, what is achievable within that cycle is reduced by the inferior core and VRAM count of the RX 7600.
However, the RX 7600 does have an ace in the sleeve in the form of its architecture.
RX 7600 vs RTX 3060 Ti – architecture
As a member of the RX 7000 series of GPUs, the RX 7600 features AMD’s latest RDNA 3. This is a powerful and capable GPU architecture that has both improved and optimised previous RDNA features as well as introduced some new ones.
For example, there are still ray tracing accelerators and an Infinity cache, but with RDNA 3 both are second generation, meaning increased power and performance. There’s then the addition of AI acceleration and a radiance display engine. The former increases AI capabilities for functions such as frame generation and upscaling. The new display engine uses Display Port 2.1 and brings increased colour performance.
The RTX 3060 Ti meanwhile features Nvidia’s previous generation of architecture called Ampere. It is still powerful and has especially good ray tracing abilities, thanks to its second-generation Ray tracing cores. Like RDNA 3, it also has impressive AI performance, with its 3rd generation Tensor cores helping to power DLSS 2. This is an AI-powered tool that is very capable of frame generation in compatible games.
RX 7600 vs RTX 3060 Ti – performance
Based on the specs and the architecture we’ve seen, the RX 7600 is one of the best GPUs for 1080p with performance dropping off more for the higher resolutions.
The RTX 3060 Ti meanwhile has some well-established benchmarks. It’s got brilliant 1080p performance, easily offering competitive level frame rates all the way up to ultra settings. It’s also just about powerful enough for a good 1440p performance, giving you around 60-70 frames per second on ultra settings.
Looking at the performance in comparison to one another, these two cards are very close in terms of frame rate, with the RTX 3060 Ti just edging it. That is until you get to 4K, where the RX 7600 actually starts to outperform its Nvidia counterpart. However, if you’re looking for the best graphics card for 4K you might want to look elsewhere.
RX 7600 vs RTX 3060 Ti – price
The RX 7600 was released with an MSRP of $269. This makes it the most affordable card of the new generation of GPUs, including those from the RTX 40-series. As a result, it is sure to be a popular card with more budget-conscious gamers.
The RTX 3060 Ti, meanwhile, launched with an MSRP of $399. This price was hugely inflated after release, and, while it has come down since, it is still often sold for around $400.

RX 7600 vs RTX 3060 Ti – final word
Picking between the RX 7600 and the RTX 3060 Ti comes down to your own preferences. These are two similar cards, which one you go for depends on how you want to balance price and performance. The RTX 3060 Ti has slightly better gaming abilities and is superior for ray tracing.
However, the RX 7600’s newer architecture and faster clock speeds still make for a powerful card. Not only that but the RX 7600 is more affordable. AMD cards often are and this isn’t helped by the inflated price of the RTX 3060 Ti.
