We’re expecting the last of AMD’s AM4 CPUs, to launch on July 7th, so, where can you buy the Ryzen 5 5600X3D?
AMD is set to launch a new processor, boasting six cores and 3D V-Cache. With a confirmed price of $229 launch, this makes the new processor around $50-90 cheaper than its eight-core counterpart, the 5800X3D. This makes the Ryzen 6 5600X3D well suited to budget gamers keen to avoid upgrading their motherboards for an AM5 CPU. For those looking to spend as little as possible on their PC build, head to our selection of the best budget CPUs and CPU coolers. If you do end up getting an X3D CPU, you’ll need a good cooling solution.
The Ryzen 5 5600X3D will have a 3.3GHz base and a 4.4GHz boost. You’ll find these frequencies slightly slower than nonX3D CPUs like the Ryzen 5600X because of the soaring temperatures 3D V-cache designs can reach. In addition, the 5600X3D will have 3MB of L2 cache and 96MB of L3 cache. Temperature-wise, you’re looking at 105W. That’s up from 65W for the 5600X, though as we mentioned, that’s expected from an X3D V-cache CPU.
So what’s the caveat? AMD has exclusively partnered with Microcenter, meaning the CPU is only available to local buyers in the US.
Where to buy AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D – Microcenter
In a small twist, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D will only be available to buy through Microcenter, a US retailer. Unfortunately, the retailer does not usually ship overseas, essentially making the 5600X3D purely US based. Sorry Canada, that excludes you too. Another factor making this launch a little different is that once the stock dries up, then it’s done for good.
We’ve included the link anyway. You’ll be able to buy this CPU for $229 from July 7th.
If the news comes as a disappointment to those hoping to bag the 5600X3D, for about $95 more at the time of writing, you can get the 5800X3D. Make sure you check what GPU bottlenecks the 5800X3D,
