Best case for RTX 4070

We’ve collected our top picks below, so that you don’t have to scroll through mountains of specs to get the answer you need. Our top pick, the Corsair iCUE 5000X is a fantastic option, and support for ATX, mATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards grants it a one-size-fits-all status.

Motherboard support

ATX, mATX, Mini-ITX

Dimensions (L x W x H)

Fans

3 x 120mm RGB

Pros
  • Relatively affordable
  • Beautifully designed
  • 3x fans included
  • Excellent airflow
Cons
  • Heavy

We chose the Corsair iCUE as our best overall case for the RTX 4070 based on its combination of aesthetics and capability. Surrounded by tempered glass on four sides, don’t be fooled into thinking this is a show piece only. While there absolutely are eight RGB LEDs which are customisable it’s not all dressing.

The Corsair RapidRoute cable management system allows for easy and intuitive routing of your cables through a hidden channel. This hidden channel joins to a solid space of 25mm behind the motherboard so there won’t be bunching problems here. The only real issue here is the 10.5KG weight. It will look beautiful and do the job wherever you put it, but you won’t be wanting to move it around much!

We also picked a Corsair case as the best budget option when we were weighing up the best cases for the RTX 4070 Ti, so you know you’re in safe hands with Corsair.

Motherboard support

ATX, Mini-ITX, MicroATX, EATX

Ports

2 x USB 3.0. 2 x USB 2.0

Dimensions

470 x 210 x 460mm

Fan support

6 x 120mm

Pros
  • Affordable price tag
  • Excellent airflow
  • Pre-installed D-RGB fans
Cons
  • Ultra-fine mesh front panel not the most aesthetically pleasing

Our budget option this time is the Phanteks Eclipse P400A.

We loved the tempered glass side panel, so you can see everything going on inside, turning this into a bit of a statement piece. Although, it’s not all looks. The roomy interior allows for 280-360mm radiator up front, and vertical GPU mounting. Not to mention room for up to an EATX motherboard also available.

The fans are fully pre-installed with digital light nodes connection up to an integrated D-RGB controller. This will allow you to sync up your lighting and fan to your motherboard for maximum lighting effect. Even better, there’s even easily accessibly I/O with two USB 3.0 mic headphone jacks.

The only con we could find for this one, particularly at such as decent price, is the aesthetics of the ultra-fine performance mesh front panel. While it does allow for extra efficient cooling, it’s not the most aesthetic option.

Best design for RTX 4070 PC case – HYTE Y60

HYTE Y60

HYTE Y60

Type

Mid-Tower

Motherboard support

ATX, mATX, EATX, ITX

Dimensions (L x W x H)

45.6cm x 28.5cm x 46.2cm

Fans

3x Flow FE12 120mm

Pros
  • Full visibility
  • Cold floor cooling
  • 3x Pre-installed flow FE12 fans
Cons
  • Expensive

Our choice for the most aesthetically pleasing RTX 4070 case had to be the HYTE Y60. The panoramic views (there is no corner pillar) makes this feel like a piece of modern art, not a case!

Hyte have also thought about the practicality of their design. There is an included PCIE 4.0 Riser cable canopy. This is a design developed specifically for this model and allows for half-height PCIE cards in a protective shroud behind the vertical graphics cards.

In addition, there is cold floor cooling provided by the lateral vents tastefully included in the floor design. Say goodbye to hot spots with this case! The fans are designed to be quiet and unobtrusive, so enjoy gaming with this beautiful design as the only distraction.

As always seems to be the problem, though, good quality comes at a price and the HYTE Y60 is no exception. Sitting pretty at a price of $199.99 at the time of writing, this case is quite a lot more than the other cases we’ve suggested on this list. If you can reconcile the price for the performance, though, we highly recommend it.

At the end of the day, chosing your case for your new RTC 4070 is a case-by-case decision (pun intended). Each person has different priorities and different budgets. If you’re looking for more of a showpiece we would recomment the Hyte Y60. If you’re looking on a budget though, the Phanteks Eclipse is probably the better choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

As with all PC builds – there’s a lot of anxiety surrounding if your parts are going to be compatible with each other. Gaming hardware is expensive, and getting refunds can be difficult sometimes. In light of that, we’re going to answer the most relevant questions so that you’re never let worrying about your PC case.

Do all PC cases fit the RTX 4070?

The RTX 40-series is ‘notorious’ for its size. The RTX 4070, like its siblings, is a large graphics card, and doesn’t fit all cases. It does, however, fit all the cases we’ve listed above.

Can you use an SLI bridge in any PC Case?

If you’re attempting to use an SLI bridge, you’re going to need to make sure you have a large enough PC case, and also a motherboard with the right amount of PCIe ports.
