If you’ve been experiencing the Baldur’s Gate 3 DirectX error – here’s how you can fix it to stop it from ruining your experience with the game.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has launched pretty scot-free of errors, though there were a few regarding the game not saving. Since they’ve been fixed, players of the game haven’t really had much to complain about. That is, until the DirectX error became slightly more of an issue.
This seems to be affecting those who are – pretty obviously – using the DirectX runtime instead of Vulkan. The simple fix seems to be switching over to Vulkan – though that doesn’t work with everyone. Here’s what you can do to solve the Baldur’s Gate 3 DirectX error.
How to fix the Baldur’s Gate 3 DirectX error
You can fix it by doing the following:
- Disable SLI
- Update to latest graphics drivers
- Switch from DirectX11 to Vulkan
Disabling SLI should be your first port of call. This can be done through Nvidia’s Control Panel
After that, you should be updating your graphics drivers. We’ve gone into detail how to do this in the past, so for now you might want to take a look at our pages on updating Nvidia drivers, and also AMD drivers.
The last thing you can try is switching over to Vulkan via the game launcher. This is the default runtime, so you should have a better experience with it. Alongside that, it’s the engine that Lorian are recommending you use with the game.
