It’s the day of release for the Ryzen 8000G graphics cards, so here’s everything we know about buying them on the day.

Ahead of the hardware announcements being swanned at CES 2024, AMD announced its next APU line-up. Repurposing Zen 4 architecture and RDNA 3 mobile graphics chips onto the AM5 socket, you might be wondering where to buy AMD Ryzen 8000G APUs.

With release dates, prices and specs all confirmed, there’s no wonder you’re also curious about where exactly you’re going to be able to buy the AMD’s cost efficient entry level gaming processors.

Where to buy the Ryzen 8000G APUs

At the moment, we’ve not seen any early listings for the Ryzen 8000G APUs. That said, there’s nothing to say that our expected retailers won’t be stocking them shortly. While it’s nothing like the major releases we’ve seen with the flagship AM5 chips, hobbyists interested in building mini gaming PCs will likely be all over these APUs.

While none of the retailers listed above in either the UK or US have any listings for the Ryzen 8000G series just yet, we’re expecting them to start appearing just before the release date.

Ordinarily, we see popular hardware release at 2PM GMT / 3PM CEST / 9AM ET / 8AM CT/ 6AM PT across the world.

These times are never really spot on, though. While this might be the earliest that the hardware is allowed to be put on sale, it’s also up to individual retailers to abide by this.

We’re going to be keeping an eye out for the latest updates on AMD’s AM5 APU series chips. It doesn’t seem likely that there’s going to be any pre-orders for the Ryzen 8000G series, though you’re going to be able to find out information on where to buy the individual SKUs here:

Will the Ryzen 8000G APUs be good for gaming?

Compared to higher-end dedicated processors, the 8000G APUs will be competent at low-range gaming without needing to invest in a graphics card. The chips are limited in cache, though, so speed in some games like CS2 and Fortnite might become an issue.

Do you need a graphics card with Ryzen 8000G APUs?

You won’t need a dedicated graphics card with any of the Ryzen 8000G APUs as they rely on a baked in mobile graphics chip for all visual display. This makes them ideal for extremely discrete and low-profile gaming PCs.
