Overwatch now has more than 15 million players globally, Activison Blizzard has announced. The figure is a jump from seven million players quoted nine days after the game’s May 24 launch.

Activision says the 15 million player number includes “box and digital sales, internet game room players, and multi-user console households”. How the users are spread across PC, PS4 and Xbox One hasn’t been revealed.

Furthermore, Overwatch in China “broke the previous record set by Diablo III as the fastest-selling PC game in the market’s history. Overwatch is also currently the number one title in Korean Internet Game Rooms, accounting for over 30 per cent of play time.

All this helped Blizzard report its biggest quarterly online player community in its history, with 33 million players.
