NIS America has confirmed that it’s regrettably delayed the Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana PC release date yet again. In a press release the company revealed that a number of ongoing issues with the RPG forced its hand, and we don’t currently know when it’ll see the light of day.

Chiefly, the frame rate on the PC build is still experiencing some noticeable hiccups, while there’s also some memory leaks causing issues, albeit on a much lesser scale than the aforementioned frame rate problems.

The studio explained that the PC version was originally conceived as a port of the PS4 version of the game, and as such attempted not to tinker with the core programming. However, following feedback from the second beta, it’s become evident that this won’t be possible, hence the (probably lengthy) delay.

‘Again, we truly regret that we underestimated the severity of the issues that have surfaced (and how long it would take to resolve them), and for that, NIS America sincerely apologizes to all of you for this unexpected delay,’ the company said.

The game was originally due to ship for PC alongside the PS4 version in September last year, before being pushed back to January 30, 2018. Those of you awaiting the relocalization patch for the PS4 and PS Vita editions of Ys VIII however will be pleased to learn that it’s still on track for January 30.Â
