Dotemu has super-glued a release date to the Xbox One edition of Ys Origin, confirming the Japanese role-playing game will launch for Microsoft’s console on April 11.

The game’s release will mark the first time the cult franchise has appeared on an Xbox platform, and will come equipped with exclusive extras such as the new speedrun mode and blood option, allowing you to adjust the level of claret that’s flung about the place during combat.

Ys Origins was released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita last year, and takes place 700 years prior to the events of the first two chapters in the series. Featuring fast-paced action and platforming, players will have to put their thinking caps on as they navigate creative puzzles while scrapping with massive bosses as they unravel the mysteries of Ys.

It’s also worth remembering that Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will be heading to the Nintendo Switch this summer.
