Nintendo of Europe confirmed on its Twitter that you’ll still play as Link in The Champion’s Ballad, the upcoming story DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There will, however, be some additional content and you’ll learn more about Zelda along the way.
This info was revealed by Legend of Zelda’s producer Eiji Aonuma at this year’s Japan Expo. Clarification of the announcement coincided with the first footage from the DLC, though to be fair there isn’t much to go on.

There were also a few more bits revealed, firstly that The Champion’s Ballad comes with an unlockable of Toon Link’s blue lobster shirt from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. How very dapper.
Yes, the #WindWaker lobster shirt will be making a comeback in The Champions’ Ballad! #Zelda #BreathOfTheWild #DLC2 #lobster pic.twitter.com/yrskXeIdjh

A new art book was also announced, the follow up to the recent Arts & Artifacts book and the Hyrule Historia that came out a few years ago now. Literally brilliant, eh?

In the meantime, the wait goes on for The Champion’s Ballad which is scheduled to release in winter. While you wait there’s plenty of time to go back through the game and find all those Korok seeds and whatnot, if that takes your fancy. Or you can play the recent DLC, The Master Trials, don’t forget the new Master Mode either, that looks like a tough un.
