A hard mode is coming to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as part of the game’s first DLC pack, and Nintendo has now confirmed that it will use a separate save slot to your regular mode one.

Fans were worried that they would have to overwrite their multiple hour game saves after this new mode was announced, because in order to start a new Zelda playthrough, that is the case currently. But now you can rest easy in the knowledge that this isn’t the case.

Master Mode (as it’ll be known in the UK) only allows players to have two autosaves, in contrast to the six in normal mode, on top of all the harder to beat baddies and everything else you expect from a more difficult mode.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild released on March 3 on Nintendo Switch and Wii U, and this first DLC pack will be available from June 30.
