Starfield Early access is mega in just so many ways. But we have a problem, anyone with an older Ryzen or Intel CPU might regret their choice of not upgrading their CPU ahead of the launch of Starfield.
Ahead of the launch, many of you were wondering whether Starfield was a CPU or GPU intensive game. Well, since the game coming into early access, it’s fair to say that Starfield is incredibly intensive on the CPU, especially if you’re only just hitting the Starfield minimum requirements on your gaming rig. That’s not to say that framerates are going to be very unstable, just be prepared for some potential bottlenecks and challenges.
Not everyone can afford the best CPU for Starfield, though we are seeing some fantastic discounts as we head into the latter part of 2023 – which will be a particularly busy sales period. So, while Starfield can run on a Ryzen 3800X, for a couple of hundred bucks, you could get a new CPU for Starfield, and settle into the journey knowing your gaming rig can handle it. Starfield is one of the biggest games we’ve seen in a long time in terms of sheer scale. Of course, upgrading your CPU will only bring the performance of your GPU into the spotlight. As a general guideline, Starfield will play nicely with at least an i5 10th gen or i7 9th gen. It might just be worth checking out the best CPU and motherboard combinations to make sure everything’s compatible.
