UPDATE 2 – 28/08/14: Microsoft has told Polygon that the option to pre-load Destiny will return ahead of launch on September 9, but has yet to confirm a date.

“We’re thrilled to make Destiny available for pre-order and pre-download for Xbox One owners around the world,” it said. “This option was available for a short period of time before the official pre-order window opened. We’ll have more details to share soon about the pre-order and pre-download window for Destiny.”

UPDATE: Looks like Microsoft’s pulled it from the website. Did you manage to grab it?

ORIGINAL STORY: Xbox One owners are now able to pre-load a digital copy of Destiny, two weeks ahead of the game’s launch on September 9.

The pre-load gives players the opportunity to download the full game ahead of release next month, although it will not be available to play until the game’s release date.

The PS4 version of Destiny is expected to be made available to pre-load at a later date.

The game’s size has yet to be confirmed, but a user report on NeoGAF claims that the final download comes in at 18GB.

So what are you waiting for? If you fancy picking up a digital copy of Destiny on Xbox One and have a spare £49.99 burning a hole in your pocket, head through to Xbox.com to give it a download.

Destiny launches on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 9.
