So, it's finally happening: Halo: The Master Chief Collection is coming to PC. That much we know already. However, while a release date has yet to be decided, developer 343 Industries has since confirmed that you can play it early thanks to the arrival of Halo Insider for PC.

The program was previously released on the Xbox One last year, and came about as a means of ironing out Halo: The Master Chief Collection's many technical issues. It's on its way for PC too, and allows you to sample Halo Reach and the rest of The Master Chief Collection early.

Speaking at SXSW during the Halo Invitational finals at the weekend, community boss Brian Jarrard said that testing will kick off 'sooner than people realise,' although in regards to Reach's launch, he simply said it'll be 'ready when it's ready.'

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will see a staggered release for PC, starting with Halo Reach. As well as launching for the Microsoft Store, the collection will also be available via Steam, which is a nice surprise.
