The worldwide shipment figure for the Yakuza series has now topped five million, SEGA has announced.
It’s also been revealed that the recently released Yakuza Of the End – a huge departure for the series with its zombie twist – has already shipped 400,000 in the two weeks since its release in Japan.
The Yakuza series began life on the PlayStation 2 in 2005, and has since seen three direct sequels – Yakuza 2, 3 and 4 – and three spin-offs: the samurai-inspired Kenzen, Black Panther on the PSP and the recent Of the End.
