Yakuza series producer Toshihiro Nagoshi revealed during a recent livestream that his team will unveil a brand new title in September, possibly at the Tokyo Game Show.
The creator behind Sega's popular gangster-smashing franchise said that the new game has been through various stages of development over the past three years, and will be something totally different to the Yakuza series or Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise.
Nagoshi-san's team hasn't produced an original IP since 2012's Binary Domain, which sadly flopped pretty badly at retail and didn't really impress critics all that much either.
That's not to say Yakuza is going anyway anytime soon, however. Yakuza Kiwami 2 is now available in the US and UK, and a Sega survey has suggested that the company is looking at localising more games in the series.
Still, it'll be good to see what Nagoshi has in store considering Yakuza has pretty much been his main focus for years now.
