Yakuza: Like a Dragon will reintroduce Nugget the Chicken as a potential partner in a new business management feature in the highly-anticipated game (via USGamer.net).
Nugget the Chicken appeared in Yakuza 0. Kazuma Kiryu won him in a bowling tournament, and as fate would have it, the feathered friend had a knack for real estate domination. Of course, the setting of Yakuza 0 and of Yakuza: Like a Dragon have thirty-one years between them, so it’s possible that this is Nugget the Chicken, Jr. Famitsu revealed that the new game will involve a business management feature, and whether Nugget is immortal or they have taught the tricks of the trade to their progeny remains to be seen.
Nugget the Chicken is not the only familiar face in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Kiryu pops up at the end of a game trailer, and director Toshihiro Nagoshi announced that Goro Majima, Taiga Saejima, and more will return to meet Ichiban Kasuga. Don’t get me wrong, this is exciting, but surely Kasuga should have his own adventure? And wouldn’t Kiryu and Majima like a tea and biscuits break after ten games?
Yakuza: Like a Dragon comes to PlayStation 4 on January 16, 2020 in Japan. It’ll then release in the West at a later date.
