Yakuza 7: Hikari to Yami no Yukue will have summons in battle and a range of minigames for players to look forward to in the next game, as reported by Gematsu.
Yokohama will be ‘more than three times the size of Kamurocho in Tokyo’, but if Ichiban Kasuga does find himself with a bit of downtime, there are a range of minigames to play. Dragon Kart is a racing game that speeds along the streets of Yokosuka, and Kasuga can collect weapons like a rocket launcher or a Gatling gun to … eliminate the competition. There will be PachiSlot games, a recreational arcade-style gambling game found in Pachinko parlors. Interestingly, this is the only instance of a PachiSlot simulator on the PlayStation 4. In Yakuza 7, slot machines that are closer to the parlor door will have higher rates, which is the same in reality.
Though a skilled and fearsome yakuza, Kasuga has his fatal flaw: falling asleep during a film. In this rhythm minigame, he will visit the cinema and battle a sheep man to keep awake and see the credits roll. The ‘live command RPG battle’ style will also take a turn to the unknown, as Kasuga can summon help in combat from his phone (for a small fee). There’s a considerable roster of characters that will be summoned including Gary Buster Holmes, Gonda Wara, and a crayfish. These fighters will support Kasuga during attack, recovery, and more stages of battle.

Two new characters have been unveiled, too: Saeko Mukouda and Kouichi Adachi. Mukouda is a cabaret hostess, and Adachi is a disgraced former detective. The Superintendent General of the Yokohama Metropolitan Police demoted him for disrespectful conduct, and allies with Kasuga to gain the evidence that would redeem him.
