Sega has announced it is sprucing up acclaimed bone-breaking actioners Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 for the PlayStation 4.
All three games were previously released on the PlayStation 3, and will be joining remakes of Yakuza 1 and 2 on Sony's flagship console, plus of course Yakuza Zero and Yakuza 6. This means you'll have the whole mainline series on one platform. Nice.
According to the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation (via Gematsu), Yakuza 3 will be out first in Japan on August 9, followed by Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5 in autumn 2018 and spring 2019, respectively.
There's no word yet on a US or UK release, but given the last few games have made their way over here, we can't see why the remasters wouldn't do the same.
Obviously, Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 aren't full-blown remakes like Kiwami; they're remasters, featuring improved visuals and frame rate.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be released in the US and UK this summer, while Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is out now.
