Rocket League will receive Xbox One X next month, developer Psyonix has confirmed.

Speaking in a post on the Xbox site, game director Scott Rudi revealed that the update will allow players to experience the vehicular soccer title in 4K resolution at a silky-smooth 60fps. Meanwhile supersampling is enabled, allowing for a 1920×1080 display.

Rocket League's Xbox One X support was originally due to roll out last year, but was postponed due to technical limitations.

It'll now arrive on December 3 as part of the game's next update, which also adds a bunch of other goodies including leaderboards for Ranked Extra Modes, plus tweaks to the XP and Progression system.

One thing that sadly won't be arriving this side of Christmas is cross-play party functionality, which has been delayed until 2019.
