The developer behind Rocket League has revealed that the game's RocketID system has been punted into 2019.

RocketID allows for cross-play parties between different versions of the game, and with Sony now deciding to play ball on PlayStation 4, Psyonix will be able to offer the feature to Rocket League gamers on all formats, provided it gets permission to do so.

The feature was originally scheduled to roll out by the end of 2018, but the delay now means we'll have to wait until early next year.

'The good news is that with Sony's recent announcements regarding full cross-platform functionality, we can now make additional changes to prepare RocketID for ALL platforms should we receive permission to do so! We’re working incredibly hard to ensure that it’s as intuitive, stable, and polished as possible, before releasing it to the world,' reads the post.

Elsewhere, Psyonix confirmed that Xbox One X support will be coming to Rocket League as part of the game's final update for 2018, which is slated for launch in early December.
