Amazon UK has sold out of its entire allocation of Xbox One’s Day One Edition and warned customers that orders placed for the Standard Edition after August 15 “will be received after release date”.

In an update on its website, Amazon said: “Please note–due to high demand, we are now out of stock of the Day One Edition Xbox One console and will not be taking further orders.”

Though it is still accepting orders for the Standard Edition, the retailer says that it “will ship orders as soon as we receive inventory”.

The Day One Edition still appears to be available to pre-order at GAME and Shopto.net.

Amazon’s notification suggests that retailers may soon sell through their entire launch day stock of next-generation consoles.

Earlier this month, Sony confirmed that PlayStation 4 pre-orders placed beyond August 6 could not be guaranteed for launch.

Microsoft has yet to confirm whether any pre-orders of Xbox One placed beyond August 15 will – or will not – be fulfilled.
