Say goodbye to typing in long redemption codes for Xbox content and services. With Xbox One Kinect will be able to scan QR codes in a matter of seconds, as Major Nelson has proved with a new Vine.
Sat in a chair the Major says out loud, “Xbox, use a code”. He then spins around and in clear sight of Kinect holds up a card featuring a QR code. Having recognised the code the user is then prompted to confirm the redemption.

Xbox One launches November 22.
It’s pretty cool, but I can’t help think this is the kind of feature which would have been seen as a cool extra had pre-release Xbox One coverage been more positive. As it is, questions about the Xbox One’s graphical capabilities overshadow useful functionality such as this.
