Speaking to MTV Multiplayer at E3 2008, Microsoft’s head of Xbox business Don Mattrick has revealed that the platform holder is working with Halo trilogy developer Bungie on a new Halo title.

MTV also learned from Mattrick that the new game is something entirely different to the Peter Jackson Halo project. As for the notable absence of Halo Wars at Microsoft’s E3 2008 media briefing, Mattrick noted that announcements are coming.

Prior to E3 it was strongly rumoured that Bungie was working on a new squad-based Halo action title, which would feature as many as eight players working together through the game’s cooperative campaign.
