Developer Twisted Pixel has announced the July 13 release date for Xbox LIVE Arcade title Ms. Splosion Man. The game is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed ‘Splosion Man from 2009.

The developer boasts of improvements in nearly every aspect of gameplay over the original ‘Splosion Man: new gameplay mechanics, varying environments, epic boss battles, revamped network support, original music and plenty of humour. As is the norm with Twisted Pixel titles, plenty of unlockables will be included that will give players a behind the scenes look at the game’s development.

“We are incredibly proud of Ms. Splosion Man and feel like it is our best game to date. We are very excited to launch it this summer on XBLA,” said Twisted Pixel CEO, Mike Wilford.

While our ‘Splosion Man review awarded the game an impressive 9/10, the studio’s follow-up only scored 7/10 in our Comic Jumper review. Prior to the successful release of ‘Splosion Man Twisted Pixel released The Maw, which we awarded an 8/10. While the quality has varied, all the studio’s games have offered plenty of laughs, so we don’t expect Ms. Splosion Man will be any different.

The Gunstringer is due for release for Kinect later this year.
