I'm sure you're well aware that there was a Mortal Kombat 11 reveal event last night. It had celebs there and everything: Chris Eubank's son, a lad called Squeezie (who might have a connection to Jools Holland, but I'm not sure), and future ex-Arsenal player Mesut Ozil. It was announced, during the big hoo-ha, that there's going to be an actual celebrity in the game, too.

Former UFC Women's Bantamweight champion and current WWE Raw Women's champion, Ronda Rousey, will voice MK original Sonya Blade in the upcoming fighter from NetherRealm Studios. 'Sonya Blade was the first kick ass girl I saw come onto the scene,' Rousey said in the character reveal trailer. 'I've always admired her, and admittedly emulated her in my own way and now I get to try and be her.'

Rousey added that getting in the booth and laying down lines for Blade was 'interesting and fun' for her. Recording dialogue, she said, gives her 'permission to be as ridiculous as humanly possible, because no one's looking and no one's judging.'

I'm sure some will be excited by this, I guess? If you're only familiar with Rousey through either her wrestling or MMA, I suggest you give her a Google; you'll find some questionable things she said on the Sandy Hook school shooting, comments about a transgender fighter, and some things about domestic abuse.

If you'd like, you can have a look at the trailer, below, but I think the above is at least worth mentioning.

Mortal Kombat is scheduled to launch on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Switch on April 23.
