Mega Cat Studios and Skybound Games have unveiled retro-themed wrestling RPG WrestleQuest, coming this summer to consoles and PC.

You’ll be lacing up the boots of a young wrestling hopeful who’s looking to join the all-time greatest grapplers. To do so, he’ll have to powerbomb, suplex and slam his way to the top while enlisting the help of some bonafide wrestling legends. We’re promised an over-the-top (rope) story that will see you meet and slam a memorable cast of characters.

Some of these characters, in fact, will be based on real life, fully licensed wrestling legends. They include Macho Man Randy Savage, Andre the Giant, Jake the Snake Roberts and Booker T to name a few. Not only that, but your journey will take you through worlds based on the careers of these legendary personas.

The game will use its own turn-based RPG system that promises to “mix real-time action with tactical choices”. Expect a mix of match styles, gimmicks and wrestling moves all given unique RPG-style twists as you progress along your journey. The game’s pixel art style, meanwhile, is said to evoke classic wrestling action figures too.

You can check out the game’s debut trailer for yourself down below. WrestleQuest is said to arrive this summer on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
