Shunsuke Izumi, a 25 year old gamer from the Tokyo area, made a 600 mile flight to Sony’s official store in Fukuoka in order to secure a day one pre-order for the PlayStation VR after launch stock sold out locally, reports the Wall Street Journal.
May retailers in Japan sold out of launch stock back in June, which forced Mr Izumi to take drastic measures, with flights costing $200. The pre-ordered system was expected to be delivered today.
“I was lucky,” Mr. Izumi said. “I believe it has a lot of potential to change my life.”
Launch stock appears less limited in the UK, with GAME still promising stock availability.
