Much of the Mass Effect team would love to see a spin-off title focussed on Turian Garrus, reports OXM.

“There’s so much that could be told in the Mass Effect universe,” executive producer of the Mass Effect series Casey Hudson told OXM. “It’d be cool to do something completely unrelated to the larger storyline, like a story about a private investigator on the Citadel. Or maybe something detailing Garrus’ time in C-Sec.”

Mass Effect franchise lead level designer Dusty Everman is also on board for a Garrus title.

“While being one of Shepard’s most loyal friends, Garrus has also had some of the most driven personal goals,” explained Everman. “He’s a hero in his own right, as Archangel and beyond. Who wouldn’t want to see the further adventures of the bold, charming Garrus Valkarian (there’s a lot of guns out there to calibrate).”

Meanwhile Preston Watamaniuk, Lead Designer of the Mass Effect series, believes a “a game centred on brutal Krogan combat with more of a melee focus could be pretty exciting”.

Mac Walters, lead writer for Mass Effect series, believes there are lots of characters which would work well in a spin-off title.

“Aria. The Illusive Man. Kai Leng. Any henchman. The list goes on. I think most of them could have successful spin-offs of their own in some fashion,” he explained.

And finally, Mass Effect producer Michael Gamble thinks the story of sole surviving Prothean Javik would be worth telling.

“Following the story of Javik a little bit more would be pretty cool,” he said. “As the last remaining member of a lost race, I think that we could tell a lot of stories about his adventures in the Milky Way, and coming to terms with his place in the new Galaxy.”

BioWare Montreal is currently working on a new entry in the Mass Effect franchise, which is scheduled for release late in 2014 to mid 2015.

If you could play a Mass Effect spin-off what would it be?
