The speculation and rumours are over as we now have an official announcement on worldwide launch dates for the Xbox 360. At its pre-Tokyo Game Show conference Microsoft announced the launch dates for each of the three key territories. The Xbox 360 will ship to North America on Tuesday, November 22nd just sneaking in before the Thanksgiving holiday. Next up is Europe with the Xbox 360 arriving on Friday, December 2nd, with Japan having to wait a further eight days until Saturday, December 10th. Microsoft revealed that the console is already in mass production with “state-of-the-art facilities producing millions of units.“
Although not exactly a simultaneous worldwide release at least no region is being made to wait overly long periods of time, which is usually the case with hardware launches. While the short wait between launches may be hard to take for some, the gap should be short enough to discourage mass importing.
