Blizzard has cut the price of World of Warcraft expansions throughout Europe both in retail and at the Blizzard Store.
According to the official website, users who still haven’t purchased expansions for the game can buy Wrath of the Lich King for €19.99 and Cataclysm for €29.99.
There has yet to be any announcement of a price cut in North America.
World of Warcraft’s upcoming expansion Mists of Pandaria still has no release date in sight, however the firm has stated its development cycle will be shortened compared to the standard 18-month cycle its earlier expansions have stuck to.
2012 will be one of the first years WoW will see major competition, in the form of not only Star Wars: The Old Republic but Guild Wars 2 – and potentially The Secret World if it develops a big enough fanbase. Cutting the price of its past expansions will likely prove to be one of many moves Blizzard will make to combat the onslaught of major MMOs.
