With pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition of the first World of Warcraft expansion already sold out, desperate fans are considering paying out up to £399 for a copy of The Burning Crusade on eBay.
Unscrupulous, or enterprising (depending on your viewpoint), auctioneers are offering to sell on their pre-orders for decidedly princely sums, with bidding already up to £275 for a single copy.
As well as boasting the game on both CD and DVD, the enhanced add-on is packed with features not included in the regular retail release, like an art book, a behind the scenes DVD, the soundtrack, WoW trading cards and an exclusive in-game pet.
The Burning Crusade a must-have item for the more than 7.5 million subscribers currently playing the MMO to date, many of who are clearly willing to splash out stacks of extra cash for the Collector’s Edition.
Publisher Vivendi Games UK was unavailable for comment at the time of writing. The Burning Crusade will hit retail stores in the UK on January 16.
