If you thought the measly 0.5% drop rate of World of Warcraft ultra rare items, mounts and more was a painfully slow grinding process, you’re not alone. However, for a short amount of time, you may be able to actually get your hands on some of the MMO’s most coveted items… provided you still grind for them.

World of Warcraft Collector’s Bounty commences

Starting this week, World of Warcraft Collector’s Bounty is an all-new event designed to reward grinders more than ever before with legendary mounts, weapons and receiving greater drop rates than they’ve seen across the MMOs lifespan.

Kicking off as we speak, the latest WoW World Event is increasing the drop rates of some items tenfold with others seeing a huge increase in drop rates of up to 25 times their original values. If you’ve ever craved some of the MMOs most unique mounts, weapons and more, this is a dream come true.

Via WoWHead, there’s a total of 36 mounts that now have massively boosted drop rates, although they will still require a hefty grind to nab. Legacy Dungeons and Raids are all affected by the World Event, spilling out loot as thousands of players run to plunder their treasures.

As a game that’s been existing for actual decades now, it’s brilliant to see such a hunger for old content now that the drop rates have been increased. Travelling back to Burning Crusade raids to get your hands on almost-ancient mounts is a brilliant time when there’s actually a decent chance you’ll actually get them!

Some of us aren’t having a good time.

Fans of the MMORPG are already having an amazing time. On the game’s unofficial subreddit, longtime players are experiencing immense satisfaction at the fact that they can finally get items they’ve been grinding for years.

On the other hand, some players aren’t getting anything despite their grinding. As with any drop rate, it’s still a percentage based chance, and some of us are just really unlucky at throwing that dice. I haven’t got anything and, let’s face it, I probably never will. Woe is me.
