The World of Warcraft 1.9 patch is now live and brings quite a lot of new content and features to the table for the New Year. The biggest additions are The Gates of Ahn’Qiraj, linked auction houses and multiple Battlegrounds queues.

Ahn’Qiraj contains two new dungeons: The Ruins of Ahn’Qirah and the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj. Exploration will uncover more on the Silithid infestation and their masters, the Quiraji. The patch also adds a one time only event for each realm said to be “a world event of massive proportions” which must be completed before the gates of Ahn’Qiraj can be opened.

A Linked Auction House system has also been implemented. The Horde auction houses are located in Undercity, Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff. Alliance players will have to use the auction houses located in Ironforge, Stormwind and Darnassus. Neutral auction houses located at Tanaris, Everlook and Booty Bay will be linked allowing all players to access them.
