Gearbox has officially announced Wonderlands (or rather Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands) an upcoming Borderlands spin-off.

It is coming to consoles and PC in “early 2022.” Check out the trailer:

The description of the game reads, “Check out the action-packed, zany announcement trailer for the upcoming game, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, featuring Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes, Will Arnett, and Ashly Burch, along with her royal highness.”

Ashley Burch took to the stage at Summer Game Fest and told us that her Borderlands character, Tiny Tina, will guide players through the world. That sounds like she is a Dungeons & Dragons-style DM. Burch also said that players will be able to customise their own character, and that Wonderlands will feature spell-casting.

Gearbox has also said that there will be a story-focussed campaign, four-player co-op, and replayable end-game content.

The last game in the Borderlands series was Borderlands 3, which some fool quite liked:

“It certainly got me. If you’re in need of a sprawling shooter/RPG adventure, then you could do a lot worse than to set foot back on Pandora. Just bring a spare pair of shoes, if you catch my drift.”

Wonderlands is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, and PC, in early 2022.
