Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, the beautiful remake of the 1989 classic Wonder Boy 3, will launch for PS4, Xbox One and Switch on April 18, DotEmu has announced.

The PC version will follow a few weeks later.

The Dragon’s Trap features all-new hand-drawn visuals, a re-orchestrated soundtrack, and the ability to switch in real-time between the original retro graphics and the modern remake, or any combination of retro and modern audio/visuals.

There’s also the rather cool feature of being able to cross-save between the remake the the 1989 Master System original using passcodes. The remake can even generate passcodes which can be entered into the original title.

DotEmu is also promising one last surprise announcement on March 22.
