The new wireless controller will be compatible with Guitar Hero and the imminent sequel, and will retail for $59.99 when it goes on sale in North America next month. RedOctane says that the controller has been made to the same high quality as the wired version, only now you can charge around the living room without having to worry about tripping up.

The wireless guitar will be white, but it’s currently not known if the shape has been changed to accommodate the wireless gubbins. Something else currently unknown is whether the controller will be released in the UK; chances are that it will, but don’t bank on it just yet.

Guitar Hero II goes on sale in North America and Europe in November.
